Oakleafe Rambling Club founded 2004 : logo... part of the Oakleafe Rambling Club (founded 2004)

The Oakleafe walking groups specialise in half-day Guided events, although we usually list 2 or 3 Day walks per year.

In 2009 we arranged our first Rambling Weekend (the LONG WEEKENDER) ~ with 4-days on the Isle of Wight.  Since then we have returned to the Isle in 2012, and also been three times to the Jurassic coast of Dorset, staying near Swanage; and most recently on the Suffolk Coast (2014).

For more information, please visit www.oakleafe.co.uk

Our programme of events for coming months throughout 2016 is published on that website.

Some of our Sussex walks and Nordic fitness walks can be found listed at the EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL website.  This replaces the EXPLORING EAST SUSSEX publication, which was discontinued after Summer edition of 2012.  We are also take part in the annual COAST & COUNTRY ~ the Wealden and Eastbourne Walking Festival at the end of September through first week of October.

We have also set up www.oakleafeeastsussex.clubbz.com (and a Surrey and Nordic Walking equivalent)

We arrange typically two Saturday afternoon walks a month in Surrey and East Sussex; a monthly Sunday afternoon walk in East Sussex and a fortnightly MONDAY morning walk in Surrey (that is for Caterham U3A Walking Group)  ... AND some Thursday morning walks in Sussex.
We also offer Nordic Walks in a Group, and occasional Taster sessions. monthly each in Surrey and in East Sussex.   We have a fortnightly Nordic walk of a Friday morning in East Sussex.
Our programme of events typically will total 55 to 60 walks per quarter.

Since 2011 we have arranged a 4- or 5-Sunday daywalk series (one walk per month from May to August/September) each year : undertaking and completing the following recently :
  >  Sussex Ouse Valley Way.
  >  1066 Country Path with the Downs Link
  >  Wealdway from Eastbourne to Tonbridge
  >  Watersides Walking Project from Wisley on the River Wey
via Amberley and the South Downs (eventually) to reach
Bramber Castle in the Adur valley.

In 2016, from May to September we are returning to the Sussex Ouse Valley Way, with some variations along the way (to explore around Ardingly Reservoir).  The dates are set and published on the Oakleafe club website.

Please contact us if you wish your e-mail address to be added to our opt-in mailing Group for advance notice of Walks to Come (we do not share e-mail addresses with any third party; our UNSUBSCRIBE arrangements are simple).  We currently have over 140 folk receiving these briefings in Surrey, and now over 175 also for the several groups in East Sussex.

A sideline that seems to be developing is to arrange bespoke guided walks of 5 to 6 mile length : for family parties/birthdays/anniversaries etc.

Walk Subscriptions :
We do not require an annual subscription, instead we have a per walk subscription.

2016 Walk Rates :
For guided half day rambles or Nordic Walks, since 1st January 2015 our rates have been £5 per person per walk.
Loan Nordic walking poles are available at a £2 supplement.
Day events are £10 per person per walk.
